Yellowstone : I went to Yellowstone this summer with my parents. For some reason I had pretty low expectations for the place, I may be a little too skewed to only being excited by big mountains. I was in fact quite impressed. Yellowstone is this improbable chunk of land where all around you things are steaming, bubbling, and shooting into the air. Definitely worth checking out.

The Gallery starts with my arrival in Gujurat where I visited family, followed by a short jaunt to Jaipur, and then includes my travels to the Himalaya. Spider Meadow : Took a trip from Spider Meadows to Lymann lakes through Spider Gap. This was my first trip to the Entiat Mountains of the Cascades and they are unreal. We camped in a basin with a glacier at its head melting into a series of brilliantly turquoise green pools. There were also the biggest swarms of mosquitos I have ever seen.

Slayin' the Pow Pow (Skiing) 2006/07 : So this is for all the ski shots i\'ll be taking this season. Not so many shots yet. Not that there hasn\'t been much great skiing already, it\'s just that most of the skiing in washington takes place in the middle of storms that are not so conducive to stopping and taking pictures. Storms that are also dumping sweet sweet pow pow.

Glacier basin : Me, Liz and Farzad rocked Glacier Basin in the Cascades. We bike to this abandoned mining town, then hiked a bit to an ancient glacier\'s cirque, then did some scary scrambling around followed by some listening to tunes.

Skiing : These shots are from the many backcountry ski trips I've done this year. Backcountry skiing is basically hauling yourself and some skis up a mountain only to come down again. Turns out it is a really good time, possibly my favorite thing to do. My first run last season was in November and my last was the middle of JULY! That's 9 months of skiing, one of the many reasons why the Pacific Northwest kicks ass.

Vesper Peak : This was a two part trip. Me and Brian first set off to climb Vesper Peak via a many pitch 5.7 (i think?) rock route. Turns out we were way over our heads, and after some scary challenges we bailed on the climb before even starting. We still made the summit up anther route. After this little adrenalin fest we hiked in to copper lake for some quality lounging. There we met up with Christina, Liz, David and Isabelle and fished and rafted. The fishing sucked but who really cares when it's a sunny day and you're at a mountain lake.
